Rowan students can reserve free tickets (1 per ID) in advance by calling 856-256-4545 or visiting the Pfleeger Lobby Box Office Monday - Friday 11am-1pm.
The first half of tonight's program features New Jersey’s finest high school instrumentalists in a new Honor Band event: WindFest! Their program features Dr. Fabio Oliveira, Rowan's new Director of Percussion, performing John Mackey's Strange Humors.
After intermission, the Rowan University Wind Ensemble presents their second program of the year, which includes Charles Ives’ Variations on America, Oskar Böhme’s Trumpet Concerto featuring Dr. Bryan Appleby-Wineberg, and Lyn Murray’s Ronald Searle Suite, music originally composed to accompany a short animated film Energetically Yours, produced by Standard Oil in 1957 to teach children about the history of man and energy (from fire to simple tools to the industrial revolution).
